Medications at School

Most medications can and should be taken at home.  However, under certain circumstances students are permitted to carry and properly administer their own medications such as inhalers and Epi-pens, as required by Ohio law.  In other situations, medications that need to be taken during the school day need to be stored and taken in the clinic.  In the nurse's absence, scheduled medications will be dispensed by the attendance secretary.

If a Medication Administration Form A is completed and signed by the parent/guardian then Ibuprofen, Acetaminophen, Antacid tablets, Cough drops and Neosporin may be given at the discretion of the School Nurse.

For All other medications, including prescription, over-the-counter, and self administered meds, a Medication Administration Form B needs to be completed and signed by a physician.  The complete Medication Policy can be found with Form B (See links below).

*The transfer or dispensing of medication from one student to another is strictly prohibited.
