Bowling
For the 2011-2012 season, Alter proudly welcomes a new coaching staff for the Bowling Knights! Head Coach Brian Kretzer is a member of the Professional Bowlers Association and brings with him a wealth of knowledge about bowling including lane play, choosing the proper equipment, and bowling for success. Coach Kretzer is a twelve-time regional PBA title holder as well as a National PBA title holder.
Assistant Coach Shannon Pluhowsky joins Alter this year as the coach for the Girls Varsity Team. Having launched her successful bowling career in high school, Coach Pluhowsky is currently an eleven year member of Team USA, and became the first athlete to win four gold medals in a single event at the 2011 Women’s World Championships in Hong Kong.
Candace Sawmiller returns to Alter Bowling this year as the Team Manager. Candace is a USBC Bronze Level Certified Coach, USBC Registered Volunteer, and Youth Director for the Greater Dayton USBC.
Alter offers Varsity Bowling in both boys and girls teams. Capri Lanes in Kettering is our center for all home bowling matches. Athletes of all skill levels are welcome to join the Bowling Knights. For more information on becoming a Bowling Knight, please email Candace.Sawmiller@daytonbowling.com.
